The Northern Police District (NPD) has vowed to bring to justice the gunmen who killed vlogger Alicia “Mima Alicia” Lipata in Caloocan City, forming a special task force to track down the perpetrators and uncover the motive behind the attack.
Police said Lipata, 24, and her partner, alias “Nelboy,” 25, were shot inside their rented house in Barangay 171 around 3:06 a.m. on Friday, July 17.
Lipata and her partner reportedly managed to run outside after the attack. She was later found dead on the road, while Nelboy was rushed by their landlord to Camarin Doctors Hospital.

NPD director Brig. Gen. Benliner Capili said Special Investigation Task Group “MIMA” has been activated to ensure a focused and thorough probe.
He ordered the task group to mobilize all investigative and intelligence resources to identify, locate, and arrest the perpetrators, and to establish the motive behind the attack.
The NPD strongly condemned the shooting incident as it extended condolences to Lipata’s family and prayed for the recovery of her wounded partner.
Lipata, a member of the United Vloggers and Influencers of the Philippines, was known as a supporter of the Marcos administration and a critic of Vice President Sara Duterte and personalities linked to the Duterte family.
Her death sparked polarized reactions online, ranging from calls for justice to mocking and hostile comments.
“Justice for Mima Alicia!” one supporter posted. Another wrote: “Hindi ito normal, at hinding hindi natin dapat hayaang maging normal ang kultura ng patayan sa Pilipinas (This is not normal, and we must never allow the culture of killings in the Philippines to become normal).”
Others, however, mocked her death, calling her a “fake news peddler” and saying it was “karma.”
Lipata had recently uploaded videos on Vice President Duterte’s impeachment trial, including her camp’s request to bring its own equipment and caterer into the Senate holding area, and defense team spokesman Michael Poa’s remarks that Duterte’s “bloodbath” comment meant she herself would “bleed” during the proceedings.
As of press time, investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects, who fled on a motorcycle.
The NPD appealed to anyone with information to contact the Caloocan City Police Station.
