WordCamp Philippines 2026 to gather open-source community in Iloilo this August

Hundreds of website developers, designers, content creators, entrepreneurs, and digital professionals from the Philippines and abroad are expected to gather in Iloilo City as WordCamp Philippines 2026 returns on 28 to 29 August 2026, showcasing the latest developments in web technologies, artificial intelligence, accessibility, and the future of the open web.
The two-day community conference will be held at the Iloilo Convention Center and will bring together members of the global WordPress community for learning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. Organized entirely by volunteers, WordCamp is the flagship community event for WordPress, the world’s most widely used content management system, attracting developers, designers, marketers, freelancers, educators, and business owners.
The conference opens on 28 August with Contributor Day, where participants can contribute directly to the WordPress ecosystem by improving documentation, translating software, testing upcoming features, and supporting community initiatives. Organizers will also introduce a new Open-Source Library experience, giving attendees additional opportunities to explore and contribute to open-source projects regardless of their technical expertise.
On 29 August, Conference Day will feature more than 20 technical talks and workshops led by industry experts. Sessions will cover Gutenberg block development, integrating artificial intelligence into WordPress, web accessibility, performance optimization, cybersecurity, and strategies for growing digital businesses through open-source technologies.
Beyond the conference program, organizers said WordCamp continues to serve as a venue for collaboration, allowing attendees to network with developers, plugin creators, designers, and WordPress contributors from across the community. The event has traditionally helped foster new partnerships, mentorships, and community-driven initiatives.
Participants will also have the opportunity to explore Iloilo City’s rich cultural heritage, renowned culinary scene, and hospitality during their stay. Organizers will likewise introduce attendees to the conference’s official mascot, Halopuu.
Several ticket options are available to cater to different sectors of the community. Student passes are offered at discounted rates upon presentation of proof of enrollment, while regular tickets include access to the conference and afterparty. Professional tickets provide additional visibility on the event website, while microsponsor tickets offer exclusive benefits such as priority registration and an invitation to the welcome dinner, helping support the volunteer-led conference.
Registration is now open through the official WordCamp Philippines website. Organizers encourage interested participants to register early as the annual event remains one of the country’s premier gatherings for the open-source, web development, and digital technology community.
