Zamora will begin his official visit on Tuesday, July 14, in the Municipality of Dumanjug, where sisterhood agreements with the eight municipalities comprising Cebu’s 7th District will be signed.
The local government said Dumanjug Mayor Efren “Gungun” Gica will lead the host municipality, together with the mayors of the municipalities of Alcantara, Alegria, Badian, Ginatilan, Malabuyoc, Moalboal, and Ronda.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation among the district’s municipalities in tourism, economic development, culture, disaster resilience, education, and local governance.
On July 15, the mayor will proceed to the Cebu Provincial Capitol for a ceremonial sisterhood signing with Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro of Cebu Province, Mayor Nestor D. Archival Sr. of Cebu City, and Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas Jr. of the City of Talisay.
“The partnership seeks to encourage the exchange of best practices and strengthen cooperation among the participating local governments in governance, public service, tourism, investment promotion, environmental sustainability, and disaster preparedness,” the local government said.
Following the morning activities, Zamora will join fellow city mayors in a feeding activity for underprivileged children at Shangri-La Mactan before presiding over the LCP Executive Board Meeting and Visayas Cluster Consultation, where city officials will discuss legislative priorities and local governance concerns.
On July 16, another sisterhood agreement will be signed by Zamora and Tagbilaran City, Bohol Mayor Jane Cajes-Yap to strengthen cooperation in governance, tourism, culture, trade, education, and investment promotion.
The local government said that the series of engagements forms part of San Juan City’s continuing efforts to build stronger partnerships with local governments across the country while advancing programs that promote innovation, inclusive growth, and excellence in public service through meaningful inter-local cooperation.
Earlier this month, the mayor visited Northwestern Mindanao, where he also signed sisterhood agreements to strengthen cooperation among local government units and exchange best practices in governance.
