House Speaker Isabela 6th district Rep. Faustino “Bojie” Dy III believes that "best is yet to come" in 21-year-old Alex's Eala's tennis journey.
Dy joined the millions who hailed Eala for her recent Wimbledon run wherein she reached the round of 16 before bowing out.
Along the way, the no.32-ranked Filipino tennis sensation dethroned defending champion and no.3-ranked Iga Swiatek of Poland.
This was Eala's best showing so far in the world's most prestigious Grand Slam. However, the Speaker expressed confidence that "Princess Alex" will achieve an even better result one day.
"Maraming salamat sa karangalang ibinigay mo sa ating bayan. Proud kaming lahat sa’yo (Thank you for the honor you brought to the country. We're all proud of you). The best is yet to come,” he said.
The House leader said every match that Eala played throughout the tournament reflected her determination, resilience, and steady growth as one of the world’s rising tennis stars.
“Every match, every victory, every loss is another step forward in what is already becoming an extraordinary career,” he said.
Dy says Eala continues to elevate Philippine tennis on the global stage and inspire millions of Filipinos, particularly those who dream of succeeding in sports and on the international stage.
“Hindi man nagtapos sa panalo ang makasaysayang kampanya mo sa Wimbledon, Alex, panalo ka pa rin sa puso ng bawat Pilipino,” said the Isabela congressman.
(Alex, your historic Wimbledon campaign may not have ended in victory but you're still a winner in the heart of every Filipino.)
