The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday, July 3, announced that its Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) in Parañaque City and Consular Offices nationwide will resume a regular five-day workweek beginning July 13.
In an advisory, the DFA said the OCA at the Aseana Building in the DoubleDragon Plaza Complex, as well as all Consular Offices across the country, will be open to the public from Monday to Friday.
“Under the five-day work arrangement, the said offices will open to the public from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on holidays,” the DFA said.
The resumption of the regular five-day workweek covers passport, authentication, and other consular service transactions handled by DFA offices.
Applicants are advised to schedule and process their transactions during regular weekday office hours. They may check the DFA Consular website for office locations, contact details, documentary requirements, and other updates on consular services.
DFA reminders
The announcement came as the DFA also reminded the public to submit only valid, authentic, and officially issued identification documents when applying for passports and other consular services.
The DFA said applicants must ensure that all documents they submit contain accurate and truthful information and are consistent with official records to facilitate the proper processing of their applications.
It warned that the use, submission, or presentation of fake, altered, forged, or fraudulently obtained identification documents may violate the Revised Penal Code and Republic Act No. 11983, or the New Philippine Passport Act.
Such violations may result in the denial of an application and the filing of appropriate administrative, civil, and/or criminal charges, the DFA said.
Applicants were also urged to verify the validity of their identification documents before submission and immediately report the loss, theft, or unauthorized use of their personal identification credentials to the proper authorities.
The DFA said applicants’ cooperation is essential in protecting the integrity of public documents and ensuring the orderly processing of consular transactions.
