DITO Telecommunity launches DITO Verified silent network authentication in the Philippines

Published Jun 23, 2026 09:03 am
DITO Telecommunity has officially launched its newest security service called DITO Verified. This commercial rollout introduces Silent Network Authentication (SNA) to the local market in partnership with Shush Inc. and is set to scale through various demand partners. With this development, DITO becomes the very first telecommunications operator in the Philippines to provide a commercially available, unified solution for carrier-native user verification.
The system operates quietly whenever a subscriber opens a digital platform, banking application, or e-wallet while connected to DITO mobile data. Within one to four seconds, DITO Verified confirms the identity of the user by executing a secure cryptographic exchange directly between the mobile network and the SIM card inside the device. Because the system never transmits a text code, there is absolutely nothing for a fraudster to intercept, copy, or steal through social engineering. The user experience remains completely seamless, as the subscriber simply opens their preferred application without typing any temporary passwords.
Modern cybercriminals frequently exploit the inherent weaknesses found in legacy authentication methods like traditional text-based passwords. The newly launched service counters this threat by conducting verification directly through the mobile infrastructure, turning the physical SIM card into a secure digital identity for local banking. This entire process is powered by the Sherlock platform from Shush Inc., an authentication infrastructure that is already active in more than forty countries and trusted by global enterprises. This setup allows Philippine financial institutions to easily integrate silent authentication alongside their existing verification systems with minimal effort.
This massive deployment of carrier-native silent authentication has the potential to protect millions of mobile users across the country. The strategic partnership effectively places the Philippines at the forefront of the global authentication transition within Southeast Asia. Local enterprise providers like Promotexter Philippines support the upgrade, emphasizing that enterprise clients deserve actual security outcomes rather than just successful message delivery rates.
“Fraudsters today exploit weaknesses in legacy authentication methods. With DITO Verified, verification happens directly through the DITO mobile network — there is nothing for a scammer to steal. This is our commitment: to make the DITO SIM the most secure mobile identity in Philippine digital banking,” according to Atty. Adel Tamano, Chief Commercial Officer, DITO Telecommunity.
The commercial availability of this network feature aligns with local regulatory mandates. It directly addresses Republic Act Number 12010, also known as the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act, which was signed into law in July 2024. It also satisfies the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Circular Number 1213 issued in June 2025, which requires phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication for supervised financial institutions. By utilizing cryptographic verification that generates no transmittable text, the system cannot be compromised through standard phishing or trickery. The partnership was initially announced at the Asian Carriers Conference in Cebu back in September 2025 and was later showcased during the Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, matching DITO’s expanding infrastructure, which reached over thirteen million subscribers and a certified population coverage of more than 86%.
