CEBU CITY – Suspected shabu valued at more than P1 million was seized and five persons, including a minor, were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in the cities of Cebu and Naga.
The first operation was conducted in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City where two live-in partners were arrested past 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 18.
Joel Plaza, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7), said Vicente, 50, and live-in Jecille, 47, were listed as high-value targets capable of selling 50 to 70 grams of shabu a week.
Plaza added that the couple was arrested after a one-month case buildup. Seized from the couple were 11 packs of suspected shabu worth P1,088,000.
Operatives of PDEA-7 Naga City Police Station dismantled a drug den during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Langtad, Naga City in a separate anti-illegal operation at around 11:40 p.m.
Arrested were the alleged drug den maintainer, identified as alias Babing, 39, and the drug den visitor, identified as alias Justin, 25. Also taken into custody was a 15-year-old boy, who was caught inside the drug den.
Among the items confiscated were five packs of shabu weighing around 11 grams with an estimated average market value of P74,800, said Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7.
