MOVIEGOER: Dingdong-Marian reunion film to skip MMFF 2026

Three years after scoring a major box office triumph at the MMFF 2023 through the film, "Rewind," power couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera flew to Quebec, Canada last week to shoot their onscreen reunion film.
The film is called "Remember," described as a romantic drama directed by Mae Cruz Alviar, who also directed "Rewind."
"Rewind" made history at the MMFF 2023 by emerging Number 1 at the box office.
Dingdong and Marian said they’re excited that the same team behind the making of "Rewind" is behind "Remember."
The film is another collaboration among ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc. (Star Cinema), APT Entertainment, Regal Entertainment, and AgostoDos Pictures (Dingdong’s production company).
Yet, what’s this I heard that "Remember" won’t be shown at the MMFF 2026 and will instead have a November playdate? ABS-CBN is fielding a Vice Ganda-Vic Sotto laugh-out-loud comedy, their first team-up, in the December filmfest.

All this talk about TV director Johnny Manahan being booted out of TV5 show, Vibe, amounts to nothing. The veteran TV man has been reinstated as Vibe director, according to my reliable source.
There’s also no truth to the rumor that Mr. M is leaving Star Worx, the TV5 artist development arm that he heads.
I remember a quote from Johnny M. during the media launch of TV5’s new set of budding artists. The veteran star maker said that stars are cultivated, nurtured and grown. Mr. M might as well be speaking of stars whom he groomed to stardom, the likes of Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Bea Alonzo, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, and so many others down the line. Here’s hoping that he hasn’t lost his magical touch that could soon work on some of the 50 young talents under his wing now.
Ricky Vargas, head of Media Quest, said of TV5 at this point: “We’re on the runway, if not on air, as we define our own voice.” He cited network’s current releases, "A Secret in Prague" and "Bespren Ko si Emman," as setting the tone for the new TV5.
Something to look forward to is the choice of TV5 as one of potential platforms to air the new Coco Martin series, "Sigabo," starting on June 22. Coco’s track record as a top rater as evidenced by "FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano" and "FPJ’s Batang Quiapo" should rub off pretty well on TV5’s overall standing.
