Filipino diners will soon get a taste of one of the United Kingdom’s most recognizable restaurant brands.
The Bistro Group has announced that it is bringing Wagamama to the Philippines, marking the latest addition to the company’s growing roster of international concepts. The first local branch is expected to open by the end of 2026.
Founded in London in 1992, Wagamama has built a global following with its Asian-inspired menu, communal dining concept, and efficient service model. The brand now operates more than 200 restaurants across 18 countries, including the UK. Its offerings range from ramen and teppanyaki to curries, salads, freshly squeezed juices, desserts and Asian beers.
“We are excited to welcome wagamama to our family,” said Jean Paul Manuud, president of The Bistro Group in a press statement. “Our goal has always been to give Filipino diners a front-row seat to globally celebrated cuisines.” He added that the brand’s British take on Asian flavors and its modern social dining atmosphere are expected to resonate with local diners.

For Wagamama, the partnership marks another step in its international expansion.
“We’re incredibly excited to join forces with The Bistro Group,” said Francisco Neves, senior vice president for franchise and partnerships at Wagamama. “The Philippines marks an important step in our international growth journey and gives us the opportunity to introduce more guests to the fresh flavors, vibrant atmosphere and distinctive dining experience that makes wagamama so special.”
The move follows a string of recent additions to The Bistro Group’s portfolio, including Morton’s The Steakhouse, Fogo de Chão, Dave and Buster’s and Dessert39. The company currently operates more than 200 stores across nearly 30 concepts nationwide.
