Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro (Betheena Unite)
Malacañang warned those behind the reported security threat in the Senate that they will not succeed and will not escape the reach of the law.
Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said the potential security threat is now being validated and has been deferred to the proper authorities.
Castro said that whether those behind it are a senator or an ordinary citizen, they will be held accountable.
"Sa mga nagtatangka, dahil nga may nauulinigan po na ganitong mga security threats, kayo man ay senador o ordinaryong tao na nagsasagawa nito, hindi po kayo makakaligtas sa kamay ng batas (To those attempting such acts, especially in light of reports of these security threats, whether you are a senator or an ordinary citizen carrying them out, you will not escape the reach of the law)," Castro said in a Palace briefing on Tuesday, June 9.
Senators on Tuesday confirmed receiving an Intel report from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regarding a potential security threat to the Senate complex.
Senator Vicente Sotto III described the reported threat as "very serious," prompting immediate security planning and a review of protocols.
