I first met Negros Occidental 3rd District Congressman Javi Benitez at his guest appearance on our digital show with Nay Lolit Solis, "Take It, Take It, Meganon," many years ago. (ang bagets pa nya!) He was still trying his luck on showbiz that time (akala ko nga kami magiging love team!) We were even teasing him to make the first move to win the heart of a sexy actress. (pero waley! Di naman niya nakatuluyan!)
Recently, he took time to have a chat with our organization, Multimedia Press Society or MMPress. (nag-mature pero artistahin pa rin! Parang mahal ko na si Cong!)
"Nandito pa rin naman ako. Nandito pa rin ako para sa industriya. Yun lang mas focus na ako sa pagseserbisyo," Cong. Javi says. ( nandito rin ako para sayo bro!)
Asking him about his ex-girlfriend actress Sue Ramirez was somehow inevitable because showbiz was a witness to their relationship which lasted for 5 years. ( o sadyang intrigera lang kami!) Sue is currently romantically involved with actor Dominic Roque. (agawin ko kaya yang si Dom! Chos! )
"I'm very happy for her. Wala ako masasabing masama about her. I still believe that she's one of the most accomplished yet still underrated actresses. Feeling ko sila na magiging endgame. Both of them want to get married and have kids. Nagsabi naman din sya. Saka bagay sila. Happy ako para sa kanila," Cong. Javi shares. (mukhang happy naman din si Cong! Sino kaya?!)
Cong. Javi is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Creative Industries that focuses on the welfare of the entertainment industry. (go go go bro!)
"I know we are going through a challenging time. Sana po hindi tayo mawalan ng pag-asa. Nandito tayo para tulungan ang ating industriya in terms of passing the Film Development Act of 2026. Sana suportahan nyo po ito," Cong. Javi reiterates. (ready na kami dyan! Game!)
