Senator Jinggoy Estrada on Friday, May 29, posted ₱90,000 bail before the Sandiganbayan in connection with graft charges filed against him over alleged irregularities in flood control projects.
The anti-graft court’s Second Division had earlier issued arrest warrants and hold departure orders against Estrada and former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan, following complaints filed by the Office of the Ombudsman.
The plunder and graft charges filed before the Sandiganbayan stem from alleged illegal budget insertions and the disbursement of over ₱573 million in supposed kickbacks connected to DPWH infrastructure projects under the Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
