President Marcos has appointed former Iloilo City mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog as undersecretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Malacañang confirmed.
"Confirmed," Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said when sought for confirmation on Mabilog's appointment.
According to DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla, Mabilog took his oath on Wednesday morning, May 13.
Mabilog took his oath of office separately before Remulla and Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.
In 2017, the Office of the Ombudsman ordered Mabilog's dismissal from office after finding him guilty of serious dishonesty and grave misconduct over his alleged unexplained wealth. The ruling also imposed perpetual disqualification from holding office.
He was, however, granted executive clemency in January 2025, reversing the 2017 Ombudsman ruling of perpetual disqualification.
