Police Brig. Gen. Jovencio S. Badua Jr., a native of Bacnotan, La Union, is the Police Regional Office-1 (Ilocos) chief effective Friday, May 8.
Badua assumed his post during a ceremony in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
He replaced Police Brig. Gen. Dindo R. Reyes who was named head of the Directorate for Comptrollership, the Philippine National Police (PNP) unit responsible for financial management, budgeting, and resource utilization.
Before his appointment to PRO-1, Badua was Police Regional Office 4-B (Mimaropa) chief. He also headed the PNP Maritime Group.
Badua served PRO-1 as deputy regional director for administration and spokesperson. He once headed the Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office. Badua was a deputy regional director for operations of Police Regional Office-2 (Cagayan Valley).
Badua is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Sandigan Class of 1994.
