CEBU CITY – More than P1-million worth of suspected shabu was seized from a drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Babag here on Tuesday night, May 5.
Joel Plaza, regional director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7), identified the suspect as Darwin, 29. Plaza was considered a high-value target in the illegal drugs trade.
Recovered from the suspect were six packs of shabu weighing 150 grams and valued at P1,020,000.
The suspect was taken to the PDEA-7 detention facility in Cebu City.
The PDEA-7 said that if found guilty of selling and possessing dangerous drugs, a violation of the Republic Act No. 9165, the suspect may face the penalty of life imprisonment and a fine of up to P10 million.
The PDEA-7 conducted a three-month case buildup before the suspect was arrested. The suspect was allegedly capable of selling 300 to 500 grams of shabu a week, the PDEA-7 said.
