'Walang iwanan': PDEA goes all out in supporting agent battling cancer
By Chito Chavez
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR) has provided its ailing personnel with the much-needed financial support.
Described as a dedicated Drug Enforcement Officer (DEO), the unnamed agent is currently battling a serious medical condition and undergoing chemotherapy.
Stressing that service extends beyond operational duties, the agency asserted that the voluntary initiative aims to help ease the financial burden associated with intensive treatment.
PDEA-CAR Director Martin Francia emphasized that the agency’s “personnel are our greatest asset and their well-being remains our top priority.’’
Further, Francia pointed out that the PDEA workforce stands united, “when one of our own is facing a difficult battle.’’
“This assistance is a small token of our gratitude for his dedicated service and a symbol of our collective hope and prayers for his recovery,” Francia explained.
“This act of solidarity underscores the PDEA RO-CAR's commitment to fostering a people-first culture. Beyond its core mandate, the organization remains steadfast in supporting its members through times of hardship and personal adversity,’’ he added.
The PDEA-CAR chief lamented that the initiative also reflects the agency’s core values of professionalism, dynamism and malasakit (compassion), ensuring that no employee faces life-threatening challenges alone.
