Singer-Actress (SA) wanted to try something new to reinvigorate her career (may career nga ba?!), especially after her contract with a talent management team expired (so hindi siya ni-renew?!).
She then thought of seeking the help of another Talent Manager (TM).
Their conversation went like this:
SA: “Actually, lumapit din ako kay (name of a manager) kasi family friend namin siya. Pero siyempre, mas gusto ko sa’yo.”
TM: “Ganun naman pala. Mas okay kung doon ka na lang sa kanya.” (Ay, tinaboy?!)
Apparently, TM was just being cordial with SA because they used to work together on a show. But his team wasn’t really interested in managing her (attitude daw kasi!).
Clue: SA has not scored a hit but was in a teleserye years ago.
Dramatic Actress (DA) belongs to a popular Talent Management Group (TMG) but is not happy with the projects she’s getting from the team. She constantly compares herself to TMG’s other talents, Actress-Host (AH) and Actress-Singer (AS).
DA: “Bakit ang daming projects at endorsements nina AH at AS? Kung ganyan lang din, magpaparelease na lang ako.”
TMG: “Okay.” (Mabilis kausap—nirelease agad!)
For TMG, AH and AS will always be their prime talents (at hindi ka-level si DA!).
Clue: DA belongs to a showbiz family. She has done numerous films, but none of them achieved blockbuster status (pero kung makakuda, ha!).
Female Host (FH) has been a loyal talent of a TV station for years. She has her own show, but she dreams of hosting the network’s biggest programs (pangarap na bituin!).
She first set her sights on a new afternoon show, but it was given to another female host (luz valdez ang peg!).
FH did not lose hope. An evening show was about to be reformatted, but unfortunately, another female personality took over the hosting stint (na-luz… again! Luz-y Torres?!).
Management’s reason for not choosing her: “Mas maganda kasi ‘yung mga ‘yon kaysa sa kanya,” the source says (ay, pagandahan pala ang labanan!).
