K-series 'Perfect Crown' ratings rise, hit 10% in Seoul metropolitan area
The ratings for the new Korean series “Perfect Crown” rose in its second episode and hit 10 percent in the Seoul metropolitan area.
The Friday-Saturday rom-com on Korean network MBC stars IU and Byeon Woo-seok and is set in constitutional monarchy in Korea.
According to Nielsen Korea, episode 2 of “Perfect Crown” on April 11 in South Korea got ratings of 9.5 percent nationwide (second place) in South Korea, an increase of 1.7 percentage points from episode 1’s 7.8 percent rating.
In the Seoul metropolitan area (Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi), the rating for “Perfect Crown” rose to 10.1 percent (second place), up by 1.9 percentage points from 8.2 percent for episode 1.
The nationwide and Seoul metropolitan area ratings put “Perfect Crown” in first place in its time slot and among all Saturday mini-series.
In addition, “Perfect Crown” took first place overall on April 11 by recording 5.3 percent in the coveted 20-54 age group, a key indicator of channel competitiveness reflecting changes in the media consumption environment.
In particular, the scene where Huiju (IU) receives the Best Entrepreneur Award and the scene where Grand Prince I-an (Byeon Woo-seok) meets I-yun (Kim Eun-oh), who attended the Entrepreneurs' Day event alone, peaked at 11.1 percent per minute.
Among terrestrial shows, the 21-episode KBS2 drama “Recipe for Love” (which starts at 8 p.m. KST) came first with 12.6 percent (nationwide) and 11.6 percent (Seoul metropolitan area).
Outside South Korea, “Perfect Crown” is available on Disney+.
