NPA leader, amazon killed in South Cotabato clash

GENERAL SANTOS CITY – A New People’s Army leader and amazon were killed in an encounter on Thursday, April 9, with government troops in a remote barangay in T’boli, South Cotabato.
Brig. Gen. Michael Santos, 603rd Infantry Brigade commander, identified the slain NPA rebels as Anthony Narvasa, secretary general of the Far South Mindanao Region, and Rosa Kian, alias Mutya, team leader of the Regional Operations Command FSMR.
Recovered from them were four M-16 and one R-4 automatic rifles.
Santos lauded operating troops for their achievement.
He said Narvasa was neutralized four months after he was installed as secretary general. Narvasa is facing a string of criminal charges, including murder and homicide.
