The Department of Justice (DOJ) is also setting up a regional prosecution office (RPO) in Region IV-B, the Mimaropa Region.
The provinces of Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan are within Mimaropa.
DOJ Acting Secretary Fredderick A. Vida said the Mimaropa RPO is one of the three RPOs the department will set up fully this year.
The two other RPOs are those in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and the Negros Island Region (NIR).
Vida said the setting up of the Mimaropa RPO “will facilitate a better and more efficient and effective service to our constituents.”
He also said he has visited Negros Occidental for the setting up of the RPO in NIR and Baguio City for CAR’s regional office.
For the past three years, the DOJ has set up city prosecution offices in Sto. Tomas City and Calaca City in Batangas, Baliwag City in Bulacan, General Trias City and Carmona City in Cavite, and a provincial prosecution office in Maguindanao del Sur.
