Easterlies to bring continued hot, humid weather — PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday, March 28 said hot and humid conditions will persist across the country due to the easterlies.
PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin de la Cruz-Galicia said the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, will continue to be the country’s dominant weather system, bringing generally fair but warm weather.
On Saturday, Metro Manila’s heat index is expected to range between 36 and 37 degrees Celsius, falling under the “extreme caution” category.
Under this level, which ranges from 33 to 41 degrees Celsius, there is an increased likelihood of heat cramps and heat exhaustion, and prolonged exposure or physical activity may lead to heat stroke.

Despite the hot conditions, de la Cruz-Galicia said no widespread rainfall is expected in the coming days.
“Wala ring widespread na mga pag-ulan. Based on the latest satellite imagery, maaliwalas at walang makakapal na kaulapan sa buong bansa (There is also no widespread rainfall. Based on the latest satellite imagery, skies are generally fair with no thick cloud formations across the country),” she said.
De la Cruz-Galicia added that no low-pressure area or tropical cyclone is being monitored inside or near the Philippine Area of Responsibility over the next two to three days.
However, she pointed out that isolated rain showers or thunderstorms remain possible due to localized thunderstorm activity, particularly in the afternoon or evening.
