Castro demands P500 M in damages after getting 'anxiety' from Leviste's libel case

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro is demanding P500 million more from Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Leviste in damages for supposedly "ruining" her "integrity" as Palace Press Officer.
Castro said it in jest in a press conference on Monday, March 23, after confirming what Leviste had earlier announced that she was demanding him to pay her for the "sleepless nights and anxiety" that the libel charge he filed against her.
"Plus for ruining my integrity. Okay, P500 million damages, it is part of my compulsory counterclaim as I believe that because of twisting some facts in the complaint, and it ruined my integrity as Palace Press Officer," Castro said.
In January, Leviste filed a libel complaint against Castro for supposedly spreading false information about his business. In a Facebook post on Sunday, March 22, Levistre said Castro was demanding payment for mental health damages that his complaint caused her.
Leviste said he was willing to cover hospital expenses to cure her.
"Very good, he admits that he is causing me sleepless nights and anxiety. So, that will be part of the case," Castro added.
