BTS' 'Arirang' album sells 4 million copies in 3 days, tops weekly chart
SEOUL, South Korea - The much-awaited album of K-pop superstars BTS sold four million copies in three days and grabbed first place on the weekly chart.
BTS released the “Arirang” album on March 20, their first full-group album release in about three years and nine months since their anthology album "Proof" in June 2022.
According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, BTS’ “Arirang” album sold 4,006,610 copies from March 20 to 22, or an equivalent of 6.37 million points under the chart’s proprietary physical record index (PRI) used to rank albums by combining album sales and price.
With this, “Arirang” topped Hanteo Chart’s weekly physical album chart covering the period March 16 to 22.
A day after the album’s release, BTS held their concert “BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang”at the iconic Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, which was live-streamed on Netflix.
The “BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang” became No. 1 on Netflix in 77 countries and territories,and entered the top 10 in 15 others.
