The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said that Deputy Commissioner Theodore V. Pascual has assumed his new post after his appointment by President Marcos last March 5.
The BI now has three deputy commissioners. The other two are Deputy Commissioners Joel Alejandro Nacnac and Aldwin Alegre.
“Pascual brings with him more than 42 years of experience in immigration and border control operations, having risen through the ranks of the Bureau over decades of service,” the BI said in a statement issued on Wednesday, March 18.
It also said that Pascual “is a seasoned immigration officer who built his career through an unbroken progression of professional advancement and long exposure to both local and international immigration training.”
Before his appointment to the new post, Pascual served as senior immigration officer and technical assistant at the Office of Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado and was tasked with overseeing border operations.
Pascual had served the BI as alien control officer in Baguio City and Sta. Rosa City, chief of the then Port Operations Division from 2015 to 2016, and chief of the then Seaport Operations Section from 2011 to 2015.
He completed a master degree in Business Administration at Wesleyan University Philippines.
