VP Sara's camp washes hand of death threats to self-confessed bagman
Vice President Sara Duterte has nothing to do with any threats to the life of Ramil Madriaga, a self-confessed bagman for Duterte, her legal counsel said Friday, March 6.
Lawyer Salvador Panelo said their camp actually wants him "alive and in the pink of health because he's the only one who can admit that he made up his testimony against the Vice President, and identify his handlers."
And if ever he would really stand firm with his testimony, Panelo said they want him to come forward and add details to his overly general and "obviously fabricated accusations," so the defense can "shatter" his claims.
"VP Sara has nothing to do with any death threats to Madriaga, and we join any calls to provide him with additional protection," Panelo said.
Duterte recently filed a perjury complaint against Madriaga, who claimed to be her former aide who had delivered large amounts of money to various individuals upon her instruction.
Duterte made the move, saying, "We could not allow invented stories to deceive the public."
