Park Bom reposts drug use claim vs Sandara Park; netizens urge her to get help
K-pop artist Park Bom reuploaded on March 4 a handwritten letter on Instagram containing details about her past controversy related to the medicine Adderall and her allegation against fellow 2NE1 member Sandara Park that she was involved in a drug case.
Last March 3, Park Bom posted on Instagram the letter containing a claim that Sandara Park was involved in a past drug case and that she was made to look like a drug addict to cover it up. She deleted the post after a few hours.
Sandara, or Dara, already refuted Park Bom’s claim.
“I have never used drugs. I wish her well,” Sandara wrote on Instagram Stories on March 4.
In her letter, Park Bom wrote, “I’m being cautious in case this causes another uproar, but I feel troubled about the drug known as Adderall. It is not a narcotic. I am a patient with ADD [attention deficit disorder],” Korea JoongAng Daily reported.
She claimed, “Sandara Park was caught in a drug case and, to cover it up, made Park Bom into a drug addict.”
“I hope YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun-suk [the founder of YG Entertainment], Teddy [a music producer] and Lee Chae-rin [2NE1 member CL] will stop reporting to the authorities that Park Bom used more than the prescribed amount of a drug she has not taken in nearly 30 years,” she said.
Park Bom’s controversy involving Adderall, a medication for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), happened in October 2010 when a package containing the medicine was sent from the US for her in Korea. There was an investigation and she submitted medical records. The prosecution suspended her indictment.
But it only surfaced in 2014 when a Korean media outlet published a story about it, which forced Park Bom to go on hiatus in Korea.
Sandara Park and Park Bom unfollowed each other on Instagram after the latest controversy erupted.
Park Bom unfollowed 16 accounts on Instagram and is now only following one account, that of actor Lee Min-ho, which she called “my husband” in the past and which also became a controversy.
With the new post, netizens urged Park Bom to stop it and get help.
Here are some of the comments on her Instagram post:
