K-pop artists land in IFPI's top 20 Global Album Sales Chart in 2025
K-pop artists dominated the Global Album Sales Chart in 2025 released by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
In its third announcement, IFPI unveiled its 2025 Global Album of the Year, Global Album Chart, Global Album Sales Chart, Global Streaming Album Chart and Global Vinyl Album Chart.
2025 Global Album of the Year
IFPI announced that Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” is its official biggest-selling Global Album of the Year 2025.
“The Global Album of the Year Award is calculated according to the album’s worldwide sales and consumption across streaming, download and physical music formats during the calendar year,” according to IFPI.
“The Life of a Showgirl” is No. 1 on the IFPI Global Album Chart, Global Album Sales Chart, and Global Vinyl Album Chart.
Through the album, Swift broke her own global vinyl sales record for the fourth straight year.
IFPI CEO Victoria Oakley said, “Taylor Swift topping the IFPI Global Album rankings once again is a clear reflection of the strength of her connection with fans around the world. This year’s results also show how truly global today’s music market is, with success being driven across streaming and physical formats by artists from a wide range of countries and genres.”

In the top 20 IFPI Global Album Chart 2025, “The Life of a Showgirl” is No. 1 while “KPop Demon Hunters” is No. 3.
Stray Kids’ “Karma” ranked sixth while Seventeen’s “Happy Burstday” is No. 12, ENHYPEN’s “Desire : Unleash” is No. 16 and Rosé’s “Rosie” is No. 19.
IFPI said, “This chart includes consumption of an album across all formats, including physical album sales, downloads and streaming across both free and paid platforms, translated into chart units by IFPI according to a rigorous methodology based on the relative economics of each format in each region globally. To qualify as an album for charts purposes, a release must contain a minimum of five tracks (exclusive of remixes or alternative versions of the same track).”

Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” topped the IFPI Global Album Sales Chart 2025 with 6.05 million units earned.
On the other hand, 10 K-pop artists dominated the top 20. They are Stray Kids, Seventeen, ENHYPEN, Tomorrow X Together, ZEROBASEONE, IVE, G-Dragon, RIIZE, Aespa and BOYNEXTDOOR.
The IFPI Global Album Sales Chart “considers sales of physical albums and full album downloads, and is calculated based on the number of units sold. To qualify as an album for charts purposes, a release must contain a minimum of five tracks (exclusive of remixes or alternative versions of the same track).”
“In the Global Album Sales Chart, K-Pop continued to be the leading genre, with Stray Kids’ ‘Karma’ at #2 and SEVENTEEN’s ‘Happy Burstday’ at #3, underlining the importance of physical formats and fan engagement strategies in driving unit sales,” IFPI noted.
Stray Kids’ “Karma” is No. 2, the highest ranking K-pop album with 3.49 million units.
Seventeen’s “Happy Burstday” is No. 3 with 2.63 million units earned followed by ENHYPEN’s “Desire : Unleash” at No. 4 with 2.13 million units.
Tomorrow X Together’s “The Star Chapter: Together” landed at No. 6, earning 1.62 million units followed by ZEROBASEONE’s “Never Say Never” at No. 7 with 1.52 million units.
K-pop girl group IVE”s “IVE Empathy” is No. 9 with 1.49 million units followed by G-Dragon’s “Übermensch” with 1.37 million.

Morgan Wallen’s “I’m The Problem” topped the IFPI Global Streaming Album Chart 2025.
“KPop Demon Hunters” is No. 3 while BLACKPINK member Rosé’s “Rosie” is No. 15.
“This chart includes consumption of an album across both free and paid streaming formats, translated into chart units by IFPI according to a rigorous methodology based on the relative economics of each format in each region globally. To qualify as an album for charts purposes, a release must contain a minimum of five tracks (exclusive of remixes or alternative versions of the same track),” according to IFPI.
