IFPI names Taylor Swift the biggest-selling global artist of 2025; Stray Kids, Seventeen on the list
The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) has named Taylor Swift as the official biggest-selling Global Artist of the Year 2025.
This is the fourth straight year that Swift has won the award and her sixth overall.
The Global Artist of the Year Award is based on an artist’s or group’s worldwide sales in streaming, download and physical music formats during the calendar year and covers their entire body of work.
IFPI said Swift has now won the award as many times as all other artists combined over the past ten years.
It said 2025 was another landmark year, driven by worldwide engagement across streaming, physical and digital formats with the release of her 12th album, "The Life of a Showgirl" and the documentary of her tour "The End of an Era."
Under the IFPI Global Artist Chart, K-pop boy band Stray Kids is No. 2 behind Swift, their highest ranking and third consecutive year in the global top five.
"For their 3rd time in the IFPI Global Artist Chart Top 10 and highest position to date at #2 it’s Stray Kids, after a busy year that saw the South Korean group release 2 albums and a digital single as well as conclude their dominATE World Tour," IFPI posted on X.
K-pop boy band Seventeen ranked 14th in 2025 from third in 2024. They have appeared on the chart in the last five years.
