PCO Undersecretary Claire Castro and Vice President Sara Duterte
Vice President Sara Duterte's claim that the Marcos administration is threatening those who are helping her is not true, Malacañang said.
Duterte's claim, Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said, "is another story-telling a lie."
She even told the Vice President to "tell it to the marines."
"So, sino ba talaga ang may kakayanan na gumawa ng karahasan? Sino ba ang nagbabanta ng buhay? So, sa mga ganyang statement, just tell it to the Marines (So who really has the capability to commit violence? Who is threatening lives? With statements like those, just tell it to the Marines)," Castro said in a Palace briefing on Wednesday, Feb. 11.
In one of her interviews, Duterte was quoted saying she was no longer talking to senators because those who are helping her ended up being targeted by the administration.
"Kapag mayroong kumakausap o tumutulong sa akin, binabanatan ng administrasyon, pina-file-an ng kaso, tini-threaten at hina-harass (Whenever someone is talking to me or helping me, the administration threatens them, file cases against them, and harasses them)," Duterte said.
In debunking the Vice President's allegations, Castro brought up previous instances where the administration faced several fake news detrimental to the government's programs and the First Family's image.
"Tandaan po natin, hindi natin malaman kung saan ba nanggagaling ang kanilang mga talent sa pag-i-spread ng mga fake news (Let us remember, we do not even know where they are getting their talent for spreading fake news)," Castro said.
"Nauna na pong nagpakalat ng fake news ang Bise Presidente patungkol sa diumano’y pagkaing baboy lamang ang bente pesos na bigas na ipapamigay, or rather, ibibigay at ibibenta sa mas murang halaga ng Pangulo through Kadiwa centers (The Vice President was the first to spread fake news regarding the alleged claim that the P22 rice to be given and sold at a lower price by the President through Kadiwa centers was supposedly fit only as pig feed)," Castro added.
The Palace official also mentioned about the fake and altered police blotter and fake videos against the First Lady.
All of those are fake, she said.
