Matteo Guidicelli says 2 employees resting when vehicle crashed into restaurant in Alabang
Actor Matteo Guidicelli said the two employees who were injured were sleeping during a break when a vehicle driven by a 72-year-old woman crashed into his restaurant in Alabang, Muntinlupa on Sunday, Feb. 8.
A sport utility vehicle rammed into Guidicelli’s Da Gianni Cucina Italiana restaurant at Westgate Hub in Alabang at about 3:50 p.m.
The police identified the driver as C. Alcantara, 72, a resident of Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig.
Alcantara and two restaurant employees were injured in the accident and were taken to the Medical Center Muntinlupa for treatment.
The injured employees were identified as Paul John Rabulan, 25, a resident of Barangay Olaes, in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite, and Rodel San Antonio, 25, a resident of Molino III, Bacoor, Cavite. The three suffered injuries in the different parts of their bodies.
In a video posted on his Facebook account, Guidicelli narrated the incident, including about the two employees who were injured.
“This was a room that, it was made into a like a stock room and I had two people sleeping in there because it was lunch break so they both got hit. They're in the hospital right now as we speak but they're okay,” he said.
He said when they spoke to the driver, "people would ask mo online if she was drunk, if she was high or whatever. No. She's a very innocent, beautiful lady that just panicked--blacked out, and pressed on the gas instead of the brakes. So that's what happened. It can happen to anybody out there.”
The car is still at the scene to be checked by people from the insurance company.
“We're just waiting for the insurance to come in to clear out everything so we can move out the car, and continue business,” he said.
Based on police investigation, the vehicle was traveling along Westgate Road when the accident occurred. They said the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to ram into the outdoor space of the restaurant.
The restaurant is located at a T-intersection at Westgate in Alabang.
