CEBU CITY – Three persons were arrested and more than P8-million illegal drugs were seized in the cities of Mandaue City and Cebu City.
Packs of suspected shabu valued at P8.1 million were recovered by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 29, in Mandaue from Bernard, a 22-year-old resident of Barangay San Roque, Cebu City.
Together with operatives of the Regional Intelligence Unit and Mandaue City Police Office, the suspect was cornered in the parking lot of a commercial establishment in Barangay Guizo.
Police said 37 packs of suspected shabu weighing 1.2 kilos were recovered from the suspect.
Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7, said intelligence monitoring showed that the suspect was capable of selling one kilo a shabu a week.
In Cebu City, two men were arrested after they were caught possessing electronic cigarettes with marijuana oil on Wednesday night, Jan. 28.
PDEA-7 Director Joel Plaza identified the suspects as Finley, 18, and Jeric, 30.
Plaza said the target of the operation, a certain Zairah, eluded arrest.
Seized from the two men were 20 e-cigarettes containing yellowish liquid believed to be tetrahydrocannabinol, an active component of marjiuana.
The seized vapes were worth P50,000, Alcantara said.
Alcantara added that the suspects allegedly sold marijuana-flavored vapes to call center agents, foreigners, and those who frequent high-end bars.
