MOVIEGOER: Prague, Siargao, Tanay & other destinations
I love watching Agenda, the evening newscast of Bilyonaryo News Channel. It is such a refreshing break from the crime-and violence-dominated news programs that have become the staple of most newscasts these days.

Agenda, hosted by Korina Sanchez, Pinky Webb, and Willard Cheng, talks business, means business. Its reporters dig deep into controversial political and economic issues not commonly discussed in other news programs. They explain the whys and wherefores of issues, making them more understandable for the masses. Little wonder a politician has moved to stop the network from investigating socio-economic issues, furthermore. The issues centered on him kasi.
Those who are excited to watch the big-screen reunion between Jericho Rosales and Anne Curtis via the film, The Loved Ones, can look forward to another special treat.
Producing company Viva Films has announced that ticket prices for the film have been reduced to P275 in Metro Manila and 230 pesos in the provinces in all SM Cinemas.
The romantic film opens on Feb. 11 as Viva’s Valentine’s Day presentation.
The price cut is in line with Viva’s efforts to bring back audiences to the cinema. This isn’t the first time the company slashed admission prices. Viva earlier experimented with the lower price strategy with the recent showing of A Werewolf Boy on Jan. 14.
A Werewolf Boy launched the Rabin Angeles- Angela Muji loveteam.
Albert Martinez showed on social media his 5-hectare farm acquisition in Tanay, Rizal, where he says he wants to retire someday. The property is part of what is known as Treasure Mountain. It was there where he celebrated his 58th birthday recently. The veteran actor took pride in saying that during early mornings, one is treated to a sea of clouds hovering the mountains like you could actually touch them. Tanay has one of the highest elevations in the country, making it one of the coldest places next only to Baguio, Tagaytay, Bukidnon and Lipa, Batangas.
Bianca Gonzales lamented the fact that travelling around the Philippines has become even more expensive than touring neighboring Asian countries like Thailand, Vietnam, or Hong Kong. She picked out Siargao for its exorbitant rates in hotel and food accommodations, not to mention the high cost of airfare.
A Siargao-based photographer vlogger refuted Bianca’s claim, citing ways and means to cut costs while vacationing on the island. Siargao, he said, remains an inexpensive holiday destination as long as the visitor chooses simple accommodations. He even cited the costs of food and lodging in his rebuttal.
Someone asked me. What is it about Prague that makes it a getting-to-be-favorite location for Philippine-made TV or movie projects?
The Borracho film, Spring in Prague, is opening on Feb. 4, starring Paolo Gumabao in his first romantic drama.
Now comes news of the sighting of Enrique Gil and Andrea Brillantes at the NAIA while awaiting boarding for a flight to Prague, Czech Republic. The couple will star in a new TV-5 series titled A Secret In Prague.
Watch Spring in Prague first, so you can compare and contrast the locations used by the two projects.
