BI reports 15.6-M passenger arrivals in 2025, 6% higher than in 2024
There were over 15.6 million passenger arrivals in the country in 2025, more than 6.7 million of them were foreign nationals, compared to the 14.7 million recorded in 2024, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Thursday, Jan. 8.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado said that due to the increasing number of arrivals, the bureau will continue its modernization efforts in the country’s airports and seaports.
“We are aggressively modernizing our immigration processes—expanding automated systems, upgrading facilities, and strengthening our manpower—to ensure faster, more secure, and more convenient immigration services for travelers,” Viado said.
He added that “these reforms are essential to facilitating legitimate travel for tourists and other travelers.”
