Five personnel of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) were among the 5,594 passers in the 2025 online Bar examinations.
BuCor’s new lawyers are Charles Agraba, and corrections officers Nino De Vera, Robin Garcia, Cherry Manago, and Xerces Sebido.
“We look forward to seeing the positive impacts of your contributions in the years to come,” BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio P. Catapang Jr. told the new lawyers on Thursday, Jan. 8.
Catapang also paid tribute to them for their “tremendous resilience throughout your respective journeys.”
“Their stories are testament to the values of hard work and commitment, serving as an inspiration not only to their colleagues at the Bucor but also to aspiring lawyers nationwide,” he added.
Catapang said the legal expertise gained by the new lawyers will help significantly in enhancing BuCor’s mission.
“The integration of legal perspectives within our team strengthens our ability to uphold justice and support the rights of individuals under our care, ensuring that our operations align with the highest standards of law and ethics,” he added.
