Rizal artist group thankful for Antipolo, Baras LGUs' support


A group of visual artists based in Rizal Province expressed their gratitude to the city government of Antipolo and Baras municipal government for helping their sector showcase their artworks through various means.

This came as the Baras Artist Group (BAG) which is composed of several visual artists based in Baras, Rizal lauded the help of Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro “Jun” Ynares, III and Baras Mayor Willy Robles in making their artworks get the needed public exposure.

In Antipolo, the office of Mayor Ynares has coordinated with Robinson Antipolo that resulted in the mall to provide a free venue for the local artists including the BAG, for the visual artists’ masterpieces.

From April 2 to 15, the artworks of the Baras artists are on exhibit at Artablado, a gallery at the Robinson Antipolo.

On exhibit at the Antipolo mall are the paintings of the members of the BAG that include the “Bahay Kubo” oil painting in canvas by the group’s youngest member, Loisa Llagas.

The paintings which were created using oil, acrylic or mix medium in canvas, showcase various subjects highlighting the artistry of the Baras-based artists.

Lorichelle Alapad, one of the members of BAG told Manila Bulletin that their group is thankful that Robinsons Land and Robinson Antipolo continue to open its doors for the local artists of Rizal Province for their art pieces to gain more public exposure.
