
The image of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, popularly known among pilgrims as the Birhen ng Antipolo (Virgin of Antipolo), is on a three-day pilgrimage to Quiapo Church as part of the Walk for Peace 2025.
A morning motorcade from the International Shrine of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Antipolo Cathedral) on Tuesday morning, April 28, with the pilgrim image of the Virgin of Antipolo reaching the Minor Basilica of the Hesus Nazareno in Quiapo, Manila signaled the start of the events for the annual Walk for Peace popularly known as “Alay Lakad.”

The Antipolo’s Marian image, dressed in light blue gown, was welcomed by a folk dance performed by a group of senior citizens and the beating of drums from residents of the Quiapo community.

A welcome mass at the Quiapo basilica presided by Fr. Keith Buenaventura of the Antipolo Cathedral started the event that kicked off the Walk For Peace activity.
The Virgin of Antipolo will stay in Quiapo Church until the 6 p.m. farewell mass on April 30, Wednesday.

The Alay Lakad proper will follow after the mass, with the pilgrims trekking from Quiapo Church to the Antipolo Cathedral.
The arrival of the Virgin of Antipolo on May 1, Thursday, will be officially proclaimed during the 5 a.m. mass at the Antipolo’s international shrine.
Thousands of pilgrims are expected to join the annual walk from Manila to Antipolo City.
The city government, police and other peace keepers have been preparing for the annual event that will herald the start of the Maytime Pilgrimage season activities in Antipolo City.
