LOILO CITY — As the Holy Week comes to a close, the Commission on Elections-6 urged voters and candidates to reflect.

“In the spirit of Lent, it is a time of reflection,” said Comelec-6 Regional Director Dennis Ausan.
“We hope this time helps our voters think and discern to come up with an informed decision on Election Day — that they should really know who their candidates are,” Ausan emphasized.
Candidates said they should also reflect on what should be done after Holy Week and towards Election Day.
Ausan reiterated his hope for a peaceful and non-violent campaigning in the last three weeks of campaigning in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces as well as the regional capital of Iloilo City.
The Comelec strictly prohibited all forms of campaigning on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday but there was a significant number of local candidates still posting online.
Ausan said online campaigning is supposed to be an election offense.
It is unclear if people filed a complaint against these candidates.
Ausan said a complainant must be filed as Comelec cannot file on its own.
