Comelec, MORE Power ink deal for stable power on Election Day


ILOILO CITY – The Commission on Elections has inked an agreement with MORE Electric and Power Corp. to ensure reliable electricity in this city in the May 12 elections.

“This collaborative initiative marks a significant step in ensuring uninterrupted power and operational readiness during the electoral process,” said Comelec-6 Regional Director Atty. Dennis Ausan.

“We want to make sure that the electricity before, during, and after the elections is of unquestionable service,” said MORE Power President and Chief Executive Officer Roel Castro.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) outlined MORE Power as the sole power distributor in this city. 

Comelec will inform the public of the electoral process. including election schedules and voters’ rights as well as electoral accountability.

MORE Power is working to provide a reliable distribution system by conducting preventative maintenance activities.

The power company will deploy a team to provide technical support to election precincts and other centers.

Comelec will also attach information leaflets to the next billing statement of around 100,000 MORE Power consumers.

Other signatories of the MOA were Comelec-Iloilo City Director Atty. Pinky Tentativa and Comelec-Iloilo Provincial Director Atty. Reinier Layson.
