CEBU CITY – Two persons of interest in the killing of a businessman in Tabogon town, northern Cebu province were arrested at dawn Tuesday, April 1, in Barangay Mambaling here.

Police said one of them drove the motorcycle used during the attack. The other POI is the owner of the motorcycle.

They were arrested after the license plates of the motorcycle and a Mitsubishi Mirage also used in the crime were captured by a closed-circuit television camera.
Initial police investigation showed that three persons were involved in the killing of hardware store owner Deonisio Montejo Dosdos Jr., 51.
The victim was driving a Mitsubishi XForce when he was gunned down a few meters from his store on Monday morning, March 31.
Police Capt. Dun Blane Tabares, information officer of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), said investigators were able to track down the owners of the vehicles used in the crime in coordination with the Land Transportation Office.
First to be identified was the owner of the motorcycle, a resident of Sitio Ipil-Ipil, Barangay Mambaling.
The motorcycle was located in an area where the Mitsubishi Mirage was also parked.
Police learned that the owner of the motorcycle rented the car upon the instruction of the gunman.
Lawmen withheld the names of the arrested persons pending further investigation.
Police said operations are also underway to arrest the gunman who was identified as a certain Enting.
