At the recent MWC 2025 event in Barcelona, Spain, HONOR made a significant announcement with the unveiling of its HONOR ALPHA PLAN. This plan marks a bold shift for the company as it transitions from being a smartphone manufacturer to a global leader in the AI device ecosystem.
Supported by an investment of over USD 10 billion in AI, the ALPHA PLAN aims to enhance user experience and expand the capabilities of HONOR's device ecosystem through artificial intelligence. A key aspect of this initiative is the commitment to provide seven years of Android OS and security updates for the HONOR Magic series, setting a new benchmark for long-term software support.
During the Mobile World Congress (MWC), HONOR received more than 50 media awards. Highlights included the HONOR Watch 5 Ultra, which was named "Best Smartwatch" by TechRadar, and the HONOR Earbuds Open, recognized as the "Best Earbuds" by TechRadar for their exceptional sound quality and AI features. Additionally, the HONOR Pad V9 received accolades from Android Authority and Tom's Guide for its AI-enhanced interface, while the HONOR MagicBook Pro 14 was celebrated for its OLED display and powerful processor.
HONOR's advancements have not gone unnoticed; even King Felipe VI of Spain took notice during the event. He was particularly impressed by HONOR's AI Deepfake Detection technology, praising its potential to safeguard users against digital threats—an increasingly critical issue in today's online landscape. The King also observed a live demonstration of HONOR's innovative AI Agent and commended the company's commitment to developing practical, user-friendly AI solutions, noting that these efforts align with HONOR's vision of fostering an inclusive AI ecosystem.
