Healthcare that’s accessible, affordable, and preventive

Spanish national and managing director Daniel Obradó envisions TopHealth as an agent for change in the Philippine healthcare system, encouraging Filipinos to be informed, proactive, and in control of their health

At a glance

  • ‘Healthcare is complex, involving multiple stakeholders, cutting-edge technology, and a commitment to innovation. But at its core, it is a privilege’

Health is personal. It is the quiet decisions we make each day, the food we eat, the habits we form, the checkups we either take seriously or put off. And yet, for something so deeply personal, health is also collective. It affects families, communities, even entire nations. This is the philosophy behind TopHealth, a patient-centered organization that puts people first and redefines what it means to take charge of one’s wellbeing.

At TopHealth, the message is clear. Your health starts with you. Prevention is key, and an annual checkup should not be something we fear or delay. With the right provider, the experience can be efficient, seamless, and empowering.

“The hospital is not necessarily the place for everything,” says Daniel Obradó, TopHealth’s managing director. “We offer the same quality and technology with less exposure, better experience, and at a fraction of the cost.”

Daniel envisions TopHealth as an agent for change in the Philippine healthcare system, encouraging Filipinos to be informed, proactive, and in control of their health. The goal is not just to treat illnesses but to create a culture of wellness where annual check-ups are not feared, and health decisions are made with clarity and confidence.

Originally sent to the Philippines in 2019 by a former employer, Daniel quickly found something special here, a sense of belonging.

“The first thing I noticed was the incredible hospitality of Filipinos. They are friendly and generous, making you feel part of their community from day one,” says the Spanish national. “I’ve lived in many countries before, but I’ve never made so many local friends. The Philippines is home now. I don’t see myself anywhere else.”

If there is one thing that needs to change, it is how Filipinos approach healthcare, particularly when it comes to prevention. “There are medical indicators that we need to face, understand, and act upon,” explains Daniel. “It’s not always easy to accept that a checkup might reveal the need for lifestyle changes or treatment. But as a society, we need to break these taboos and focus more on overall wellbeing, including nutrition, weight management, and mental health.”

WITHIN REACH On offer among other services are state-of-the-art equipment and procedures for imaging tests like ultrasonography for a fraction of their standard prices at other clinics and hospitals

The goal is to shift from reactive to proactive healthcare. Instead of waiting for symptoms to appear, Filipinos must embrace regular health assessments and preventive care as an investment in their future.

With nearly a decade in the healthcare industry, Daniel has gained valuable insights into a field that is constantly evolving. “Healthcare is complex, involving multiple stakeholders, cutting-edge technology, and a commitment to innovation. But at its core, it is a privilege,” he says. “Patients trust us with the most important thing in this world, their health and the health of their loved ones. It is a responsibility we carry every day.”

Living a long, healthy life is not about a single decision but a series of conscious choices. “Are we eating a balanced diet? Are we exercising daily? Are we getting enough rest? How is our mental health?" asks Daniel. “Each of us is responsible for our wellbeing, but we also need support to create healthier habits.”

EASY ACCESS Its friendly, engaging service and location, where affordable health care is needed the most, are the pillars of TopHealth's accessibility

Change begins at home. Asking the difficult questions, encouraging loved ones to make better choices, and leading by example—these are the first steps. And when the time comes for expert guidance, TopHealth is there to provide the care, expertise, and tools needed for every stage of life.

"We are most proud of having a wide range of diagnostic tests always ready to be performed for walk-ins from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. This provides the highest level of convenience to our patients," explains Daniel, citing how TopHealth makes it easier for people to address health concerns. "We also work with the latest technology in Ultrasound, X-ray, and our new equipment for TopHealth derma center, that offers aesthetic procedures with CO2 laser, Diode laser, Q laser, and HIFU."

Because at the end of the day, health is not just about treatment. It is about making healthcare accessible, affordable, and focused on prevention.
