BuCor has no digital payment accounts for Bilibid PDLs

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has no GCash or digital payment account for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the maximum security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.

“Any claim that BuCor operates or authorizes such a payment system is false and unauthorized,” the bureau warned.

It said it issued the advisory after having received reports that “individuals or entities falsely represent themselves as the official financial channel for sending money to PDLs.”

“These claims are deceptive and put the public at risk of financial fraud,” the bureau said.

The BuCor advised the families and friends of PDLs “to exercise caution and refrain from engaging in any financial transactions purportedly linked to BuCor without direct verification.”
