The NBI on Thursday, March 27, said the suspected human traffickers were arrested last March 22 during an entrapment operation conducted by the operatives of the NBI Human Trafficking Division (NBI-AHTRAD) at a fast food joint in Paranaque City.

It said the two suspects, whose identities were withheld, were arrested in possession of P2,500 that they received from an undercover agent as payment for the services of one of the rescued girls.

“A total of eleven (11) minor victims, with ages 14 to 16 years old, were taken to AHTRAD office for their sworn statements under the supervision of DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) Social Workers,” it also said.

“They will undergo rehabilitative and protective programs and will be provided counselling and temporary shelter,” it added.

Following the arrest, the NBI said the two arrested suspects were presented for inquest before the Department of Justice (DOJ) on charges of violations of Republic Act (RA) 9208, the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003; RA. 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act; and RA 11930, the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) Act.
