Several provincial and municipal candidates in Rizal Province, including the incumbents, who will vie for their constituents' votes on May 12 have pledged to make the elections honest, orderly, and peaceful.

During an event organized by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Rizal Provincial Election Office, several provincial candidates, led by incumbent Rizal Governor Nina Ricci Ynares, joined the unity walk and peace covenant signing on Feb. 4 at the Rizal Police Provincial Office in Taytay, Rizal.

Comelec’s Rizal Provincial Election Office head Atty. Arnulfo Pioquinto said the activity was aimed at ensuring the full cooperation of all the local candidates in the province in the poll body’s desire to have an honest, fair, and peaceful polls in May.
The recent gathering of the local candidates also signified the cooperation and assistance of other stakeholders, including the military and the police, in making the election period free from violence.
Part of the ceremony were the lighting of white candles and the releasing of white doves by the candidates.
