122,473 foreigners completed their mandatory annual reporting -- BI
A total of 122,473 foreigners in the Philippines have completed their mandatory annual reporting to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) before the March 1 deadline.
In a statement issued on Friday, Feb. 28, the BI urged foreigners who have yet to comply "to do so immediately."
It warned that "failure to report within the first 60 days of the year may result in fines, penalties, and even deportation."
The BI did not state how many foreign nationals are in the country and required to comply with the annual mandatory reporting.
“Under Philippine law, all registered foreign nationals—including those working, residing, and studying in the country—must complete the annual report to update their records with the BI,” it said.
Aside from physically appearing before the BI, the bureau said registered foreigners may opt the use of the agency’s online platforms.
It said its online platform "allows registrants to fulfill their obligation without the need for physical visits, reducing queues and processing times.”
