WTFu by MR. FU: Papa Marky's new chapter
At a glance
Veteran radio jock Mark London Guiling, a.k.a Papa Marky recently made one of the biggest decisions in his career: to leave his popular radio show “Talk to Papa” on Barangay LS 97.1 after 10 years. (saan ka gogora Papa?!)
“I reached a point in my career where I asked myself, “Have I done everything I could? Is there still more for me to achieve here?” I left at a time when the station was number one and my show, Talk to Papa, was at its peak. Walking away from such success was not about dissatisfaction but seeking a greater purpose. I had mastered my craft to do my job with my eyes closed. But beyond that, I craved more depth, challenges, and meaning. I wanted to push my limits and prove that I could thrive in new spaces. It was never about leaving radio—it was about expanding my horizons and embracing new possibilities,” Papa Marky explains. (relate ako dun sa kahit nakapikit ang mata!)
Papa Marky had the opportunity to work for seven radio stations in 22 years. (dinaig ako! ako four stations in 15 years!)
“Leaving radio after more than two decades was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever made. For 22 years, it was my comfort zone—my passion, my livelihood, and the job I loved doing every single day. It’s never easy to walk away from something that has become a part of you. Every fiber of my being longed for the familiar rhythm of my work, and I knew I would miss it deeply. But I sought guidance, reflecting on whether this was truly the right path for me. In the end, I realized that growth requires change, no matter how difficult. I wanted to explore new opportunities, challenge myself beyond the microphone, and prove that I could do much more. While radio will always be a significant chapter in my life, I believe it should be a stepping stone to greater endeavors. This decision is not just for me—it’s for my personal development, my family, and a bigger and brighter future than ever.” Papa Marky shares (baka magtatayo na ng kulto!)
His radio experience will always be part of his new ventures. “The greatest gift of radio was my connection with my listeners. They came from all walks of life, each with a unique story to tell, and I was privileged to be the voice they trusted. The bond I shared with them was more than just a broadcaster to the audience—a relationship built on real emotions, experiences, and conversations. Hearing their stories and knowing that my words brought comfort, laughter, or inspiration was incomparable. It taught me that media is not just about entertainment; it’s about impact. It’s about making a difference in people's lives, one story at a time. And that is a lesson I will carry with me, no matter where life takes me next” (ako ba may nabaon mula sa radyo?!)
The media personality will now focus on his newly established company, TAGM . “I am stepping into the exciting business world; last year, I launched TAGM Marketing Solutions Inc., a company specializing in marketing, advertising, and production. I have been managing the company for over 10 months now - this new chapter is about growth, creativity, and pushing boundaries beyond traditional media. I have always been passionate about storytelling and branding, and this venture allows me to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the industry. The transition from radio to entrepreneurship is challenging, but it excites me. I am embracing every opportunity to learn, evolve, and make an impact in new ways. TAGM is not just a business—it’s a vision, a movement, and a platform for groundbreaking content. The journey is just beginning, and I can’t wait to see where it leads.” (ay CEO na ang papa mo!)
Most of his projects now are podcasts on Spotify. “At TAGM, we are redefining digital content creation through high-quality podcasts, branded content, marketing solutions, and full-scale production services. Our podcast division boasts some of the most compelling and top-rated shows in the industry, including Papa Dudut Stories, Will Talks, Creepsilog, Ang Pinuno, Landian with Dami, Papa Talk, WTFu, Ang Ninuno, The Art of Validation, Tatayhood, and many more. Beyond podcasts, we provide end-to-end marketing solutions, media partnerships, and customized brand storytelling to help businesses grow and connect with their audiences. Whether through audio, video, or digital media, TAGM is committed to delivering content that resonates, engages, and inspires.” (yes, yung Spotify version ng WTFu nandyan!)
The mass communications graduate from Ateneo de Manila University admits that even if there are loyal radio listeners, digital/online platforms have already dominated the media industry. But he will never close his doors to radio, and his love for his fans will remain. “For over two decades—half of my life—I spent my days and nights listening to your stories. I was there through your joys, heartbreaks, struggles, dreams, and triumphs. Every call, message, and story shared on air became a part of me, shaping my career and soul. Our bond goes beyond radio—a connection forever in my heart. To be entrusted with your emotions, to be a voice of comfort and companionship, was an honor I will always cherish. Leaving the airwaves does not mean leaving behind the memories we created together. Your voices will continue to echo in my heart, reminding me why I started in the first place. Thank you for the love, the support, and the countless moments we shared. This is not a goodbye but simply the start of a new journey.” (may bagong barangay na si papa!)
