Omerta Bespoke brings Cebu’s finest tailoring to Manila

Suit yourself

There’s something about a perfectly tailored suit—it speaks before you do. It carries a presence, a promise, a quiet authority.

Omerta Bespoke knows this well. Born in Cebu in 2022, the atelier has become synonymous with craftsmanship that doesn’t need to shout to turn heads. Now, with its expansion to Metro Manila, settling into the refined halls of Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Omerta invites a new clientele into its world, where fabric meets form and personal style becomes statement.

Founders Chase Cokaliong, Alden Go, and Brian Poe Llamanzares didn’t just spot a market gap. They tailored an entire experience around it. Cebu’s well-heeled professionals once faced two choices: fly to Manila (or beyond) for bespoke garments or settle for off-the-rack mediocrity. Omerta changed that equation. What started as a local solution quickly became a destination for those who understand that dressing well isn’t vanity—it’s strategy.

There was a time when men dressed as if the world was a stage. They were the leading men. Think Clark Gable lighting a cigarette in a three-piece suit or George Peppard, effortlessly debonair in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Across the Pacific, Manila in the 1950s knew that kind of elegance all too well. Rogelio de la Rosa, Leopoldo Salcedo, and Luis Gonzales graced the silver screen in double-breasted jackets and slicked-back hair, cavorting with the likes of Carmen Rosales, Gloria Romero, and Nida Blanca in black-and-white films where romance bloomed under the soft glow of streetlamps and ballroom chandeliers. It was an era when pocket squares were folded just so, ties were perfectly knotted, and shoes shone like polished mirrors. Omerta Bespoke isn’t trying to revive that era. It’s reminding us that style, real style, transcends time.

Step into the new Manila boutique and you step into a sanctuary for style. The atmosphere is understated yet unmistakably luxe—shelves lined with fabrics from Loro Piana and Piacenza, a private fitting room that feels more like a members-only lounge than a tailoring space. Here, consultations aren’t rushed. They’re conversations. What do you want your clothes to say about you? Do you favor a sharp peak lapel reminiscent of Hollywood’s golden age or a softer silhouette that recalls Manila’s cinematic past? Even the lining—yes, the part no one sees—is up for personal curation. Because with Omerta, it’s not just about how you look. It’s about how you feel when you put it on.

“We’re passionate about the art of bespoke tailoring,” says Alden. And it shows. Every garment undergoes a meticulous process: precise measurements, masterful cuts, and hands that have spent decades perfecting their craft. These are clothes designed not just to fit your body but your life.

There’s a reason power dressing starts with power tailoring. There’s a reason icons of style—past and present—turn to bespoke. Not quite nostalgia, it’s an understanding that some things never go out of fashion.

The move to Manila wasn’t just business. It was timing. “When Shangri-La Plaza presented the opportunity, we knew it was right,” says Chase. Three years of fine-tuning in Cebu laid the groundwork for this next chapter. Now, Omerta is ready to dress the capital’s discerning set—executives, politicians, and anyone who knows that when you walk into a room, your clothes speak before you do.

Because in the end, bespoke isn’t about the suit. It’s about the man—or woman—inside it. It’s that feeling when the jacket slides on just so, when the fabric moves with you, when you catch yourself in the mirror and think, “Yes. This is me.” Isn’t that the whole point?
