LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – The National Bureau of Investigation-Naga City is confident that the surrender of the person of interest in the killing of Dr. Rajean Romualdez in Naga City last Sunday would move the case forward.

Raymart Martinez, alleged boyfriend of the victim, turned himself in to the NBI-Naga on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 19.
Agent Joey Ajero of NBI-Naga said in a media interview that Martinez voluntarily surrendered to NBI-Naga following days of negotiations.
Ajero said that Martinez, accompanied by family, surrendered at the port of Matnog in Matnog, Sorsogon.
"Kasama niya pamilya, anak niya at kapatid nung sinundo namin sa Matnog port," Ajero said.
(He was accompanied by his family, child, and sibling when he picked him up at the Matnog port)

Ajero said Martinez went to Cebu City after following the incident. Martinez said he went to Cebu City for his safety.
Martinez surrendered to the NBI after the agency assured his safety.
He refused to answer questions about the incident from the media and referred them to his lawyer.
