TESDA agrees to train PDLs in Sablayan Prison in Occidental Mindoro
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has agreed to provide training to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.
The memorandum of agreement (MOA) on the training was signed last Dec. 12 between SPPF and TESDA.
The BuCor said the MOA sealed the commitment of both parties to “equip PDLs with essential skills and knowledge in preparation for their release and transition back into free society.”
With skills-setting and upskilling programs, it said the PDLs will be equipped with relevant competencies to enhance their employability and expand their access to livelihood opportunities upon release.
