Malacañang denied reports claiming that secretaries Sonny Angara and Henry Aguda were on their way out from President Marcos' Cabinet.
Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro clarified that Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Angara and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda remain at the Cabinet, saying they were even part of the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting with President Marcos held on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
"Denied po dahil kahapon lamang po ay kasama namin sila sa LEDAC meeting at nagbigay din po sila ng kanilang mga proyekto sa private meeting with the President (We deny because just yesterday, we were with them at the LEDAC meeting and they even presented their projects in a private meeting with the President)," Castro said in a Palace briefing on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
"So, we denied," she added.
The Palace official also said that there is no new update on a possible Cabinet revamp.
Castro also noted that the President is "contended" with the performance of his Cabinet secretaries.
"Sa ngayon nakikita po ng Pangulo na ang kanyang mga Cabinet Secretaries ay nagtatrabaho. Nakita naman natin, sunud-sunod ang kalamidad, sunud-sunod ang bagyo pero nandiyan parin po at nakakatulong tayo sa ating mga kababayan (For now, the President sees that his Cabinet Secretaries are working. We have seen that despite the consecutive calamities and typhoons, they are still there and we are able to help our fellow citizens)," Castro said.
"So, kontento po ang ating Pangulo sa lahat ng kanyang mga Cabinet Secretaries at habang nanatili sila diyan, nandiyan parin po ang tiwala ng ating Pangulo sa kanila (So, the President is satisfied with all of his Cabinet Secretaries, and as long as they remain in their posts, they continue to have the President’s trust)," Castro added.
